RUOK? Day - Art with Heart Class *SOLD OUT*

Grab a friend and join our complimentary Art Therapy on RUOK? Day

Art and creative self expression has long been used as a therapeutic tool for people to increase their sense of well being. The process of making art encourages mindfulness and concentration, allowing individuals to temporarily escape from stressors and focus on the present moment. Art also allows individuals to explore their inner world, gain insight into their emotions, and find healing and catharsis through the act of creation.

Daimon Downey is a Sydney-based contemporary artist whose studio practice focuses on abstract and expressionist painting. Rooted in fantasy and the imagination, the art is born in Downey’s studio overlooking Bondi Beach and invites the onlooker to feel comfort and happiness through its exploration of colour, balance and form. It offers an escape from the mundane and often harsh realities of life.

RUOK-DAY-2023What is RUOK? Day

RUOK Day 2023, celebrated on September 14th, marks an important opportunity for individuals and communities to come together and prioritise mental wellbeing. This annual event encourages open conversations and connections, emphasizing the power of asking a simple yet profound question: "Are you okay?"

In a world that often moves too fast, RUOK Day serves as a reminder to slow down and connect on a deeper level with friends, family, and colleagues. It's a day to actively listen, support, and offer a helping hand to those who may be struggling with their mental health.

So, on RUOK Day 2023, let's make an extra effort to check in on our loved ones and those around us. A simple conversation can make a world of difference in someone's life. Together, we can create a more compassionate and supportive world where everyone feels valued and heard.
