Did you know that at least 500 million women and girls globally lack access to the facilities they need to manage their periods?

We’re working with Days for Girls International (DfG) to shatter stigmas and limitations for women and girls around the globe... but we need your help.

When: 12 - 2pm Thursday 23 March
Where: Level 5, Walama Conference Centre, Tower One, International Towers

DfG is an award-winning non-profit that has provided more than 2.6 million women and girls (in 144 countries on 6 continents!) with quality, sustainable menstrual care solutions, and health education. We’re inviting 13  members of the International Towers community and help put washable and sustainable DfG kits together. Once completed, your kits will be distributed to people who menstruate all over the world. Together, we can help provide health, education and livelihood outcomes for girls and women. Watch the video below to find out more.

The DfG kit includes 2 waterproof shields, 8 absorbent liners, a carry pouch for washing and storing, underwear, a washcloth, soap, and a Care and Use sheet, all of which are enclosed in a beautiful drawstring bag. Girls experiencing period poverty have frequently reported missing school, so a DfG Kit is a truly useful resource that will make a real difference.

As a volunteer, you'll be asked to help with:
‣ Inserting snaps onto shields.
‣ Tracing and cutting the waterproof fabric for the shields.
‣ Pinning, sewing and tracing liners.
‣ Preparing drawstring bags for sewing.
‣ Ironing the Days for Girls labels onto bags.
‣ Threading ribbons into bags.
‣ Finishing liners.
‣ Preparing shields for packing.

When: 12 - 2pm Thursday 23 March
Where: Level 5, Walama Conference Centre, Tower One, International Towers
