Beyond Leadership Skills: Developing the Mindset to Thrive in a Changing World with Dr Suzy Green

Written by International Towers | Oct 28, 2026, 11:48:27 PM

What if becoming a better leader isn't just about learning new skills, but fundamentally changing how we think, respond and make sense of the world around us?

In this forward-thinking conversation, Dr Suzy Green explores the emerging field of vertical development and its powerful intersection with positive psychology and coaching psychology. As leaders navigate an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world, traditional leadership development approaches may no longer be enough.

When:  Friday, 6 November 2026, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM AEDT

Drawing on 25 years of experience as a researcher and practitioner dedicated to helping leaders, teams and workplaces thrive, Suzy introduces a different way of thinking about leadership growth. Rather than simply adding more knowledge and capabilities, vertical development focuses on expanding how we understand complexity, navigate challenges and respond to change.

Together, we explore what leadership maturity really means, why it matters in today's rapidly evolving world, and how evidence-based positive psychology and coaching approaches can support deeper personal and professional growth.

This conversation will resonate with leaders, executives, People & Culture professionals, HR teams and anyone interested in human potential, leadership effectiveness and creating workplaces where people can genuinely thrive.

Key takeaways include:

  • What vertical development is and how it differs from traditional leadership development.

  • Why leadership maturity is becoming increasingly important in navigating uncertainty, complexity and change.

  • How positive psychology and coaching psychology can support deeper leadership development and help individuals and teams thrive.
