Our limited-edition tea towels have been created to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of International Towers, and the beginning of the vibrant community and precinct we enjoy today.
Made in Australia from 100% organic cotton, each tea towel features a unique design inspired by the Bauhaus art movement, reinterpreted for International Towers by Sydney-based design studio The Gallery.
The Bauhaus (which means ‘building house’ in German) was aGerman art school, which aimed to unify art with design, architecture, and production, and pioneered a new, minimalist approach, characterised bysimplicity, geometric shapes and functionality.
The school was founded by Walter Gropius, and although only operating between 1919 and 1933, had a profound and lasting influence on modern architecture, graphic design and furniture and homewares design.
It’s a fitting philosophy to draw on for the creativity behind our anniversary materials. International Towers and the Barangaroo precinct itself have also pioneered new ways of designing, building and operating the places we work and gather, setting numerous new benchmarks in sustainability, waste management, engineering, architecture, technology and construction.
The tea towels are a simple reminder that beauty and practicality can happily co-exist, and high performance does not need to come at the expense of wellness or an elevated experience.
There are five tea towels in the series, each celebrating a unique aspect of International Towers. Visit the Amica giveaway booth in the south lobby of Towers Two for your chance to redeem one of the towels using Amica points. Quantities are limited, so don’t miss out.
