This year’s NAIDOC Week, the campaign’s visual identity has been shaped by the work of Ryhia Dank — a proud Gudanji and Wakaja woman who paints under the name nardurna, meaning "woman" in her language.
Ryhia’s work is known for its flowing patterns and vibrant palettes. Her practice, which she calls storywork, blends colour, memory and connection to Country. It reflects both her upbringing in a remote Northern Territory community and her present-day life in urban Australia.
You’ll see her art featured throughout the campaign — including on this year’s Connection Pins. Ryhia is also an ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and continues to share her love of storytelling across multiple mediums.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy, aligns closely with her voice as an artist — honouring where we come from and looking ahead to where we’re going.
