Discover the First Nations Furniture in Our Storytelling Circle

As part of National Reconciliation Week 2025, International Towers is proud to showcase beautifully crafted First Nations furniture by Winya, now featured in our Storytelling Circle pop-up library.

Designed with comfort, culture and sustainability in mind, the furniture—comprising ottomans and lounge chairs—offers a place to pause and reflect while browsing a curated selection of books from the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

A Business with Purpose
Winya, meaning “to sit now” in the Wiradjuri dialect, is a majority Indigenous-owned furniture company founded in 2015 by Kamilaroi woman Debbie Barwick, CEO of the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce. Their mission goes beyond design—Winya is a profit-for-purpose enterprise that champions First Nations employment, skills development, and ethical, sustainable production.

From repurposing and recycling materials to donating furniture to First Nations communities, Winya’s work combines function with long-term impact. Their national partnerships with manufacturers also create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous workers in the furniture industry.

Experience the Story Behind the Design
The inclusion of Winya furniture in our lobby is both practical and symbolic—supporting moments of cultural connection, reflection and rest in a space built to listen and learn.
