World #1 In Sustainability. Again.

Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) results for 2021 have been released - International Towers is the first ever to score a perfect 100%.

GRESB is an investor-led organisation that recognises the transition to a sustainable world is a fundamental challenge we must face together. One of its core missions is to collect, validate, score and benchmark the standard of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) demonstrated by organisations, providing business intelligence, engagement tools, and regulatory reporting solutions to financial markets.

This annual GRESB assessment is globally recognised as a consistent and transparent standard by which ESG outcomes can be measured in real estate, so it’s with immense pride that we can announce that, for the second year running, International Towers has been ranked World #1 for sustainability.

What’s more, we achieved this 2021 ranking with a perfect 100% score in the assessment, which is a world-first.

In announcing the results to the International Towers tenants and stakeholders, fund manager, Liam Timms, said, “I’m extremely proud of our team, which has delivered back-to-back global leadership with extraordinarily tough competition. We are custodians of 183,000 square metres, and it’s turning up every day and doing the little things which leads to such exceptional ESG strategy, implementation and performance.”

As Liam went on to thank a long list of team members and partners, he noted that, in 2021, the GRESB assessment covered nearly 117,000 properties, representing A$7.7 trillion in global assets under management.

“And by successfully competing with 1,520 entities to rank first, our team deserves all the respect and gratitude it has received,” Liam concluded. “GRESB has assessed us to be carbon neutral since 2019, then in 2020 and 2021 we were ranked world number one in sustainability. Everyone involved should take a bow.”
