A Gesture in Bloom

A simple act of kindness that connects and uplifts

Inspired by Taiwanese-American artist Lee Mingwei’s exhibition The Giving Garden at the NGV, this activation celebrates the beauty of giving and receiving. Mingwei is known for creating art that invites people to connect through simple and heartfelt gestures.

During Mental Health Month and in celebration of spring, International Towers tenants are invited to take a flower from the bespoke carts installed in the lobbies of Tower Two and Tower Three from Tuesday 21 October to Thursday 23 October. You may offer it to a friend or keep it as a small gift to yourself, a reminder that kindness and care can be shared in many ways.

Each flower will feature an uplifting message, either wrapped in paper or tied with a ribbon and tag around its stem. These thoughtful details are designed to inspire moments of reflection, connection, and joy throughout your day.

Giving flowers, whether to others or to yourself, is a simple yet powerful act of care. When we give to others, it becomes a moment of connection and appreciation, reminding both giver and receiver that they are seen and valued. When we give to ourselves, it becomes an act of self-compassion, a quiet way of saying you matter too.

Each bloom carries a gentle message of encouragement, wrapping beauty and intention into one thoughtful gesture. These small rituals can lift the spirit, ease the mind, and remind us that even in busy days, there is always room for warmth and tenderness.
