Barangaroo Reserve 10th Anniversary Picnic

Celebrate culture and connection. Partake in a community picnic honouring ten years of Barangaroo Reserve.
Join us for a special lunchtime celebration celebrating 10 years of Barangaroo Reserve – a decade of culture, community and connection to Country. Set on the sweeping Walumil Lawn, this free event invites you to slow down, gather and honour the rich stories of the land and the people who’ve shaped its journey. It’s all part of Barangaroo You Wellness Month.
When: Sat 23 Aug, 11.30am – 1.30pm
Where: Barangaroo Reserve, Walumil Lawn 1
The festivities will begin with a Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country by Tim Gray, a Gumbaynggirr/Wiradjuri/Bidjigal man who helped shape Barangaroo Reserve as we know it. Afterwards, a smoking ceremony by Dhinawan Yarn will open the space with respect and spirit.
Relax into the rhythm of the day with live music performances from The Green Hand Band and Elina Roberts Turner, join a weaving workshop* with Ngumpie Weaving, or take part in intimate yarning circles where stories are shared and community deepens.
No registration required, just turn up and join in! Bring a rug, grab something to eat and drink and share this meaningful moment in one of Sydney’s most iconic cultural landscapes.
*Weaving workshops limited to 40 people
