Sydney Marathon
Sydney Marathon weekend is coming to Barangaroo
Get ready to feel the energy as the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS returns, bringing one of the world’s great running events to Sydney from 28 to 30 August.
The excitement will extend to Barangaroo, with Sydney Marathon activity taking place along Wulugul Walk, including Barangaroo South, Central Barangaroo, Crown, Nawi Cove and the Reserve.
The main event takes place on Sunday 30 August, when more than 40,000 runners are expected to take on the 42.195km marathon through Sydney, starting in North Sydney and finishing at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Whether you’re running, supporting someone taking part or simply joining the atmosphere, it’s set to be an exciting weekend for our neighbourhood.
Make a weekend of it
If you’re around Barangaroo, take some time to enjoy everything the precinct has to offer. Grab a coffee, stop for a bite or take a walk along the waterfront while soaking up the atmosphere of marathon weekend.
With thousands of runners, supporters and visitors expected across the city, there will also be road closures and changes to transport. If you’re travelling to or from Barangaroo, we recommend planning your journey ahead of time and using public transport where possible.
More than a race, the TCS Sydney Marathon is a celebration of endurance, community and the energy of Sydney.
Will you be running, cheering from the sidelines or soaking up the atmosphere at Barangaroo this year?
