Book Launch | Buckets of Hope with Abang Othow

This Book Week, discover how hope can be built, carried and shared, one bucket at a time.

Join us for a special lunchtime conversation celebrating the launch of Buckets of Hope, the powerful new book from internationally acclaimed educator, speaker and leader Abang Othow.

When: Tuesday, 25 August, 12:30pm – 1:00pm
Where: International Towers

As a young child, Abang was separated from her family during the war in Sudan, enduring unimaginable loss, displacement and trauma. Amid the darkness, one vivid memory remained: the brightly coloured buckets her family once carried, filled with food and water. That simple image became the foundation of her life-changing Buckets of Hope framework, a practical way of visualising hope, resilience and possibility, one bucket at a time.

In this inspiring 30-minute conversation, Abang will share the deeply personal story behind the book, the lessons that helped her rebuild her life, and how each of us can cultivate hope, navigate adversity and create a future filled with purpose.

As Abang says, "This book is not just my story, it is an invitation into your own. Because hope can be held, shaped and carried, one bucket at a time."
