Zanobia brings Middle Eastern dining to Barangaroo

A new dining experience is arriving at The Streets of Barangaroo.

Opening 28 August 2026, Zanobia brings the warmth, generosity and flavours of Middle Eastern dining to the waterfront, with a menu made for sharing.

Founded by Jorge Ballas and his wife Jo-Anne, Zanobia is inspired by Jorge’s childhood across Iraq, Dubai, Syria and Lebanon, where food was at the heart of family gatherings and celebrations.

The menu celebrates traditional flavours and cooking techniques, from hot and cold mezze and vibrant salads to premium meats marinated for up to 48 hours and cooked over the signature charcoal grill. Highlights include baked halloumi with spiced honey, Jordanian lamb mansaf, chicken fesenjan and kibbeh sajiyeh, followed by desserts including rose milk cake and pistachio tiramisu.

The drinks menu continues the journey through the region, with contemporary cocktails featuring flavours such as za’atar, pomegranate and aniseed, alongside arak, Lebanon’s traditional anise-flavoured spirit.

Inspired by Queen Zenobia of the ancient Palmyrene Empire, the space pairs rich colours, natural timber and stone with intimate alcove-style seating, creating a warm setting designed for connection, conversation and shared meals.
