International Towers Visits Doyle Bros Dry Waste Facility

A closer look at where dry waste goes

The International Towers team recently visited the Doyle Bros dry waste facility to gain a deeper understanding of how materials from the precinct are processed and repurposed.

The visit offered valuable insight into the next stage of the waste journey, highlighting how everyday materials are handled once they leave the towers and how they are transformed into useful resources.

As one of Sydney’s leading waste and recycling providers, Doyle Bros brings extensive experience in resource recovery and sustainable waste management. Their facility plays a key role in supporting the precinct’s waste strategy by ensuring dry waste is diverted from landfill and processed effectively.

Inside the Dry Waste system
At International Towers, waste is approached differently. It is not simply discarded but carefully sorted to maximise recovery. The Dry Waste stream is designed for items that cannot be traditionally recycled but still hold value, including coffee cups, soft plastics, textiles, and stationery.

Once collected, this material is transported to the Doyle Bros facility, where it is processed and converted into Process Engineered Fuel. This process gives waste a second life and reduces reliance on landfill.

This approach supports the broader sustainability goal of diverting 80% of operational waste from landfill, reinforcing a commitment to building a more progressive and carbon-neutral precinct.

Collaboration driving better outcomes
The visit highlights the importance of understanding the full waste lifecycle and the role of trusted partners in delivering better environmental outcomes.

By working closely with industry experts like Doyle Bros, the precinct continues to refine its waste systems and strengthen its commitment to sustainability.

Through ongoing collaboration, education, and practical action, we continue to move towards a more circular and resourceful future.
