Cuppa for a Cause
A hopeful conversation on nature, cities and the future we share
What happens when we stop seeing nature as something separate from us and start recognising it as part of our everyday lives, health, cities and future?
In this episode, Jo Taranto sits down with Professor Sarah Bekessy, Lead Councillor of the Biodiversity Council and Industry Laureate Professor at the University of Melbourne, for an honest and hopeful conversation about biodiversity in Australia.
Together, they explore why biodiversity loss affects far more than wildlife, how human behaviour is shaping environmental decline, and the practical solutions already helping communities, governments and organisations protect the ecosystems we all depend on.
From designing cities that reconnect people with nature to creating nature positive communities, Sarah shares how small shifts in thinking, planning and action can support both environmental and human wellbeing.
This conversation also highlights the work of the Biodiversity Council, which brings together leading scientists and experts to translate complex environmental science into practical, accessible action for Australians.
As part of this quarter’s Cuppa Collective initiative, Cuppa is donating $2,500 to the Biodiversity Council to support evidence-based environmental action and help protect Australia’s unique ecosystems for future generations.
Grab your cuppa, take a moment to learn something meaningful, and discover one small way you can help protect the natural world around you.
