Feel Good. Do Good. This R U OK? Day.
This R U OK? Day, a luxury hair or beauty service, a meal. Your donation funds the same care for someone who needs it.
R U OK? Day asks us to check in. This year, we're giving you a reason to sit down and actually do it.
On Thursday 10 September, the Feel Good Project is bringing its mobile salon into the Tower Three South Lobby, with Two Good Co alongside them. Fifty appointments, 10:30am to 3:00pm, and every one of them does two jobs at once.
When: Thursday 10 September, 10:30am to 3:00pm
Where: Tower Three South Lobby
What's on offer
Blow-dries and styling, mini facials, brows and lashes, or nails. Delivered by the Feel Good Project's network of professional stylists and beauty therapists, with hair services supported by their partner, Status Co Barangaroo.
Every appointment includes lunch prepared as part of Two Good Co's food programs. So you sit down, get properly looked after, eat something good, and go back upstairs feeling like a person again.
Why this day
R U OK? Day is Australia's national day of action, built on the idea that one conversation can change a life. We picked it deliberately. Feeling good and checking in on other people are the same instinct pointed in two directions.
Where your donation goes
Every service is offered in exchange for a donation. It covers what you receive today, and then it keeps going.
- $50 funds haircuts for two people in the community
- $150 funds hair and beauty services for six women in shelters
- $500 funds hair and makeup for five women from Two Good Co on their graduation day
Give what feels right. Bring a card or cash on the day and the Feel Good Project team will take care of it.
Why it matters
The Feel Good Project connects generous beauty professionals with people who need a lift, working out of a mobile trailer into refuges, hospitals and shelters. Community appointments are shorter, so more people can be seen. The exception is a Two Good Co graduation day, where each woman gets a longer, personal appointment on a day that deserves it.
Two Good Co employs women rebuilding their lives after homelessness, domestic violence and complex trauma, cooking and delivering meals to women and children affected by domestic violence. The meal you're handed on Thursday was made by that team. Their line says it better than we can: we believe in people, until they believe in themselves again.
A wash and a cut sounds small. For someone rebuilding, it's the confidence to walk into a job interview.
