Gulp! Workshop - let's go from comfort to courage
We’re told that we need to get out of our comfort zone.
But that’s vague advice. With busy lives, it can be hard to find the time to even work out what to do, let alone fit it in.
Through this session you’ll develop ideas and a plan to deliberately get out of your comfort zone, and reap the benefits. These benefits include:
- boost happiness and get a sense of achievement
- build our tolerance to uncertainty
- take fear out of the driving seat
- broaden our horizons and bring excitement.
This isn't about doing crazy, white knuckling undertakings. It's about finding things take us into the unknown and uncomfortable that stretch us, not break us!
It's time to go from comfort to courage.

ABOUT SARAH
Sarah is a professional risk manager with a passion for risk-taking. In her forties, in search of more out of life, Sarah decided to step away from her corporate life and attempt to paddle the length of the Nile. After two years of planning, paddles hit the water & what followed was a life-changing adventure. She survived hippo attacks, being arrested and detained in Burundi and running lethal rapids.
She went on to paddle the Murray River in Australia and cycle nearly 5,000km across Australia. She also cycled 1600km solo through Oman. In 2024, she undertook a different quest: to do 52 things in 52 weeks that took her into the unknown, uncertain and uncomfortable. She called it her year of Gulps! The goal was to make being out of her comfort zone a familiar place.
Two decades in a corporate career combined with her expeditions have given Sarah insights into what it takes to overcome fear, thrive through uncertainty and succeed in challenging environments. Now she's focused on helping people explore what they're capable of and overcome what might be holding them back.
